ATV

Frequently Asked Questions
I have never driven an ATV, is it very difficult or dangerous?

t is not difficult, but it requires attention. Most of our units are semi-automatic or automatic, making them easy to handle. However, unlike a car, an ATV requires you to use your body to balance on curves and uneven terrain. Before heading into the jungle or mountains, you will receive full safety instructions and perform a test drive on flat terrain to ensure you are comfortable with the handlebars and thumb throttle.

Is a driver's license mandatory for driving an ATV even if we are only going off-road?

Yes, it is a legal requirement and essential for insurance. The driver must present a physical and valid driver's license (from your country of origin is valid).

  • Critical Note: We do not accept photos of the license on a phone or learner's permits. If you forget your license, you will not be allowed to drive, and no refund will be issued.

Can I take a small child with me on the ATV?

For safety reasons, ATVs have stricter restrictions than RZRs. The minimum age to be a passenger on an ATV is 8 years old, as the child must have enough strength to hold on tightly to the driver during sudden movements. If you are traveling with younger children (4-7 years old), we strongly recommend booking an RZR (Buggy), which is much safer for them.

What kind of clothes should I wear? Will I get very dirty?
  • Dry Season (Nov-May): There will be a lot of dust. We will provide bandanas and goggles, but your clothes will get covered in dirt.

  • Rainy Season (Jun-Oct): There will be mud and puddles. It is the most fun season, but you will end up soaked.

  • Recommendation: Wear old clothes you don't mind getting dirty, closed-toe shoes (no sandals/flip-flops), and bring a change of clean clothes for after the tour. Many of our base locations have showers and lockers.

What is the difference between an ATV and an RZR?

It is the ideal option if you want to enjoy the scenery without worrying as much about driving technique.

What is the difference between a single and a double ATV?

Frequently Asked Questions

No. For water tours, you must arrive at the meeting point at the Maritime Terminal. Meeting point for Water Tours:

Maritime Terminal Ver Mapa

Are there port taxes I have to pay separately?

Yes. If the tour departs from an official Maritime Terminal, you must pay a Port Fee (approx. $30-$60 MXN per person) in cash before boarding. This is a federal tax for pier maintenance and is not included in the online ticket price.

Does my reservation guarantee entry to the Hidden Beach (Playa del Amor)?

We want to be very honest: Entry is never 100% guaranteed. Access depends on two factors we do not control:

  1. The Tide: You must swim through a rock tunnel. If the tide is too high, the Port Captain closes access for safety.

  2. Limited Capacity: CONANP only allows 116 people per day.

  • Our Promise: We do everything possible to secure your access, but if authorities close the beach, the tour will continue with snorkeling in the Nopalera area and bird watching, and no partial refunds are made for the specific beach closure.

How well do I need to swim to enter Hidden Beach?

You must be a strong swimmer. The boat stops about 60-100 meters from the entrance. You must jump into the water (wearing a mandatory life jacket) and swim that distance, going through a rock tunnel against the current.

  • Restriction: Fins are not allowed (to protect the coral), making the swim more tiring. Not recommended for people with low physical fitness or heart problems.

I heard I cannot use sunscreen, is that true?

It is strictly true. To protect the coral, it is prohibited to use any type of sunscreen, oil, or tanning lotion (even biodegradable ones) before entering the water at the Marietas Islands.

  • Solution: We recommend wearing a UV protection swim shirt (Rash Guard) and a hat. You can only apply sunscreen once the tour is over and you are back on the boat away from the islands.

ZIPLINE TOURS

Frequently Asked Questions
Do the tours include hotel pick-up?

Most of our tours offer transportation from established meeting points.

For mountain tours:

Para tours en Punta de Mita

s there a maximum weight limit for the ziplines?

Yes, due to strict safety standards set by the cable and harness manufacturers.

  • Standard Limit: The maximum weight is typically 136 kg (300 lbs).

  • Note: Sometimes the limiting factor is not just the weight, but ensuring the harness fits correctly around the waist and legs. If you have any doubts, please contact us before booking.

Is there a minimum age to use the ziplines?

Yes, due to strict safety standards set by the cable and harness manufacturer, there are minimum age, height, and weight requirements for this tour.

  • Minimum Age: 6 years old.

  • Minimum Height: 1.20 meters (approx. 4 ft).

  • Minimum Weight: 30-40 kg (66-88 lbs).

Aquí tienes la traducción lista: Can I bring my cell phone or camera to record while flying?

Not in your hands. For the safety of the people taking this tour, loose objects (cell phones, keys, coins) are strictly prohibited.

  • The Exception: We do allow GoPro type action cameras if, and only if, they are firmly mounted with a chest or helmet strap. If you don't have the mount, you cannot use it.

What clothes and shoes are mandatory for a zipline tour?
    • Shoes: Must be closed and secured to the foot (sneakers/tennis shoes). Sandals, huaraches, or flip-flops are prohibited because they will fly off.

    • Clothing: Wear long shorts (bermudas) or leggings. Avoid very short shorts because the harness straps can rub against your skin and be uncomfortable.

Do I have to walk a lot to get to the lines?

It depends on the tour, but generally, the adventure involves walking on dirt paths in the mountains between one line and another.

I wear contact lenses or glasses, can I wear them?

Yes. Unlike water activities, on ziplines you can use your prescription glasses or contacts, but we recommend using a strap for your glasses so you don't lose them due to the wind speed.

I am afraid of heights, do I have to hold on with my arms?

t is a common myth! You don't need arm strength. Your full-body safety harness does all the work and supports you 100% of the time. You just sit back and enjoy the view.

  • Trust us: If you panic halfway through, our certified guides are trained to do "tandem" (bring you down attached to them) so you feel safe until you reach solid ground.

What happens if my children want to go but are afraid to go alone?

No problem. On most of our circuits, small children (usually ages 6 to 8) can fly tandem with one of our instructor guides. The guide controls the speed and the brakes, ensuring the child has a fun and stress-free experience.
